A memory quilt is a quilt that has been made from cherished articles of clothing. They may be T-Shirts or Cotton Shirts etc... they may depict places that you have travelled to or concerts that you may have attended. They could have even been worn and loved by someone who has since passed away. A memory quilt is a great way to wrap yourself in love or to gift to someone close and dear to you.

The process:

You arrange a suitable time to bring your clean & cherished clothing to me in one piece and intact (Please do not cut anything up) We will chat about what you would like done. It may be a collage quilt or simple geometric design. You will choose the size of the quilt (this will depend greatly on how much fabric is available from the clothing), backing fabric, binding colour and Edge to Edge quilting design.

There will be an approx. 12 - 16 week turn around on commissioned memory quilts.

What I do:

• Cut your clothing up to create blocks to the desired size and create a pattern.
• If required Iron and add interfacing to the clothing/fabric.
• Sew your blocks together to create a quilt top.
• Layer the quilt top with wadding and backing fabric.
• Professionally machine stitch an Edge-to-Edge design (as agreed upon) over the entire quilt.
• Trim the quilt.
• Make the binding, Iron, press and stitch to the quilt (this covers and binds the raw edges of the quilt)
• Personalized quilt label for the back

You will now have a completed quilt made lovingly from your clothing.

Pricing:

Pricing will vary depending on how much fabric is available from the clothing and if studio fabric/interfacing/ needs to be added etc.

A deposit of $250 will be required once everything is agreed upon and before the quilt process begins. Full payment required on completion of quilt. No Quilt will be released until final payment has been received either prior to pick up or on pick up.

• Lap Size Quilt approx. (150cm x 150cm or 60" x 60") from $650 Simple Geometric design or from $1100 for collage style
• Single Size Quilt approx. (150cm x 210cm or 60" x 82") from $950 Simple Geometric design or from $1400 for collage style
• Double Size Quilt approx. (180cm x 210cm or 72" x 82") from $1200 Simple Geometric design or from $1800 for collage style
• Queen Size Quilt approx. (210cm x 210cm or 82" x 83") from $1400 Simple Geometric design or from $2100 for collage style
